Take advantage of convenient express trips on City of Santa Clarita Transit’s Route 797 and Route 792, offering direct service between several Santa Clarita communities and UCLA/Westwood. Starting September 1, 2009, UCLA Transportation is offering a subsidized City of Santa Clarita Transit (SCT) quarterly pass and will discontinue the sale of subsidized 20-ride punch cards. The quarterly pass will be loaded onto a TAP card, which is a transit smartcard with a small chip in it. These smartcards are fast becoming the standard transit fare media for the region. UCLA Transportation will continue to subsidize 50% of the cost. The SCT quarterly TAP card also provides commuters with new benefits: - New payment option: UCLA staff and faculty may pay for the pass through payroll deduction. Pretax payment saves approximately 20% or more of the pass cost, depending on your tax situation. Commuters may also pay by cash or debit card as well.
- By choosing payroll deduction, the cost of the quarterly pass will be spread across two consecutive months. Staff and faculty paid either bi-weekly or monthly will be charged one-half of the pass cost in each of two consecutive months.
- Academic quarter-based pass: The new TAP card for SCT is valid for the academic quarter. It is not a ride-by-ride cost as the punch cards were; therefore, it can be used as much as you like during the effective dates of the pass.
- Local routes are now included: Commuters may also use their TAP card to ride local SCT bus routes. Commuters can now more easily ride local buses to access Route 797 or Route 792, the commuter routes to/from Westwood.
Please note that the new quarterly TAP card is offered for sale at the Central Ticket Office (CTO), which is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You will also need to bring a valid BruinCard for identification purposes to the CTO. Faculty & Staff Quarter | Lobby & Web

City of Santa Clarita Transit also provides evening service to return home from UCLA/Westwood. The last bus from Westwood to Santa Clarita departs at 8:04 p.m. from Gayley & Strathmore. This bus is good for students who stay later on campus after classes and accommodates employees working 12-hour shifts.
