The following instructions will configure Firefox with the BOL proxy server. This will allow you to access UCLA restricted sites while connecting through another ISP.

Configuring the BOL Proxy Server for the Web

  1. Open up Firefox and go to Tools then Options.

  2. In the Options window, select the General icon on the left side of the window. Then click the Connection Settings button near the bottom of the window.

  3. In the field Automatic proxy configuration URL: type http://proxy.ucla.edu/cgi/proxy

  4. Click on the OK button.
  5. Click on the OK button again.

When you access a UCLA restricted site, a secure page will ask you to enter your UCLA Logon ID and password before proceeding to the site.
