Accepting Your Housing Offer

 Make Your Initial Payment

Payment Options
Please take a moment to look at your Housing Offer Letter. This page details the total costs and payment options for your room/building assignment (for more detailed information on the meal service, refer to Appendix A). You may choose from three convenient payment options:

Plan A (MONTHLY) requires an initial payment submitted with your Notice of Acceptance and signed Housing Contract by the due date stated in your offer, followed by nine installments each due the first of the month from September through May.
Plan B (QUARTERLY) requires an initial payment submitted with your Notice of Acceptance and signed Housing Contract by the due date stated in your offer, followed by three installments due October 1, January 1 and April 1.
Plan C (FULL) requires that you submit full payment of your signed Housing Contract along with your Notice of Acceptance by the due date stated in your offer.

Options for Financial Aid Recipients

Plan G (FINANCIAL AID QUARTERLY) Only students who are eligible for Plan G will have this option printed on their Housing Offer Letter. If you receive financial aid and plan to use your disbursement during the academic year to make your housing payments, you may be eligible for this payment option. Students who receive financial aid are required to make an initial payment submitted with your Housing Offer Letter and Housing Contract by the due date stated in your offer, followed by three payments due October 1, January 1 and April 1. These due dates are scheduled to coincide with the dates of your financial aid disbursements.

Payment Due Date
Your initial installment must be received by 5 p.m. on the due date printed on your Housing Offer Letter (postmarks will not be considered). If your payment is not received by the due date, your housing offer will be canceled.

Note: The University is not responsible for housing contracts and payments lost or delayed by the U.S. Postal Service. It is your responsibility to ensure that the University receives your Housing Contract and payment by the deadline.

Remember, by submitting your initial payment, housing forms, and Housing Contract, you enter into a binding legal contract for the entire academic year. You will be obligated to make all payments according to the payment schedule you choose, whether or not you check into your room.

Forms of Payment
For ease and convenience, we suggest you make your initial housing payment on line at www.housing.ucla.edu/myhousing. Housing payments may be charged to your credit card, debit card, or by Automated Clearinghouse (ACH) using a checking or saving account number. You may also pay by mail with a money order or cashier’s check made payable to U.C. Regents in U.S. funds and drawn on a U.S. bank. No foreign money orders, personal checks or credit card payments will be accepted by mail. You may pay with a personal check in person at the Housing Cashier's Office located in Sproul Hall.

Change of Assignment/Roommate Request
To request an assignment change or a new roommate, submit a Change of Assignment Request (CAR) form by selecting the Change of Assignment link at www.housing.ucla.edu/myhousing. CAR forms are accepted only after we receive your initial payment and signed contract for your current assignment offer. The deadline for submitting a CAR form for Fall Quarter is July 10, 2009, by 5 p.m.
