Mercury Thermometer Exchange Program
Summary: EH&S proudly presents the Mercury Thermometer Exchange Program. This is a great program that enables laboratories to exchange their intact mercury thermometers for non-mercury thermometers at no cost.

The key factors of the Mercury Thermometer Exchange Program are to:

  • Reduce the health and environmental risks of mercury pollution
  • Prevent laboratory closures due to the clean-up of broken mercury thermometers
  • Exchange mercury thermometers with non-mercury thermometers for FREE

We have had many research groups participate and we want to thank them for their involvement in this great program. Because of this initiative, we have been able to eliminate several hundred mercury thermometers from the UCLA campus.

While much progress has been made, we do know that there are still many mercury thermometers out there. Exchange Program thermometers are high quality, non-mercury replacement thermometers from Fisher Scientific and have been very well received by researchers throughout the campus.

To participate, fill out the Mercury Thermometer Exchange Program Form in the Related Information section of this page. Be sure to follow the instructions at the bottom of the form.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this exciting new program. Please assist us in achieving our goal of making UCLA a mercury free campus.
