DEANS, DIRECTORS, DEPARTMENT CHAIRS and ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICERS Maintaining safety in the UCLA community is a top priority and the University has many outstanding resources that are related to this important issue. To help ensure everyone is aware of these resources, a new brochure on “Preventing and Responding to Violence in the UCLA Community” is now available. The brochure provides information on counseling and safety resources, University policy, the UCLA Violence Prevention & Response Team, and reporting requirements. The dissemination of this information will help us maintain a safe work and learning environment. The brochure is specifically designed for faculty, staff and students and emphasizes four key areas: - Awareness & Prevention
- Managing a Threat
- Taking Action
- Reporting a Potential Threat
Please contact Susan Shahoda at (310) 794-0868 or sshahoda@chr.ucla.edu if you would like to pick up hard copies of the brochure for your organization. To download a PDF of the brochure, go to Related Information. We strongly encourage you to have this important resource guide available in your department, as preventing violence is a shared responsibility in which everyone at UCLA plays a part. Sincerely,
