The University of California is offering Sexual Harassment Prevention (SHP) training as required by State law (AB1825) for faculty, managers and supervisors. SHP training is required every two years; therefore, the current effort applies to those who participated in the 2005 training and new hires. To ensure that everyone who is required to participate in the training can do so, the UC Office of the President (UCOP) has extended the deadline.

If you have not yet completed the training, you may have recently received an email reminder from UCOP. I strongly encourage you to respond to the invitation in order to satisfy your requirement to take part in this essential online course. The University's objective is to achieve a 100% completion rate.

If you have misplaced your email invitation, please contact uctraining@ucop.edu and ask that the link be resent to you. For more information about the training, visit the UC Sexual Harassment Prevention Training website in Related Information. For those who prefer in-person training, please contact Cathy Bell in the UCLA Title IX Office at (310) 206-3476.

As leaders in the UCLA community, it is our responsibility to promote an environment in which employees can work in an atmosphere free from all forms of harassment and discrimination. Sexual Harassment Prevention training will help you identify and resolve situations of perceived sexual harassment and bring clarity to University policy requirements, as well as applicable State and federal laws.

Chancellor Block and I appreciate your attention to this important matter and your efforts in completing the training.

Sincerely,

Scott L. Waugh
Acting Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
