Nomination Applications Being Accepted Through May 4, 2007
The Office of the President is now accepting nomination applications for selection of two UC employees to serve on the University of California Retirement System (UCRS) Advisory Board. Eligible candidates are invited to complete an online nomination application through May 4, 2007. Only active members of the University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP) who are not members of the Academic Senate will be qualified as candidates.
The UCRS Advisory Board discusses concerns relating to all members, participants and their beneficiaries and develops ideas or new approaches to the provisions of UCRS benefits and communicates them to the President of the University. The newly elected UCRS Advisory Board members will serve from July 1, 2007, through June 30, 2011.
Both the nomination and voting processes will be conducted online through a special election site. The site currently provides information on the nomination application period and contains nomination materials that can be downloaded. Nomination materials are also available at UCLA's Campus Human Resources/Employment Office in the Wilshire Center.
In mid-May, a list of qualified candidates and their statements will be posted on the website. Online voting will be conducted May 29, 2007, to June 22, 2007, via "At Your Service Online," which will be accessible on the election website during that timeframe. Only eligible active UCRP members who are not members of the Academic Senate will be qualified to vote in the election. Final election results will be posted on the website shortly after the voting period.
This is an excellent opportunity for eligible UCLA employees to gain systemwide experience by serving on the UCRS Advisory Board. For more information about the UCRS and its upcoming special election, please visit the website in Related Information.
