Some of CTS' other telecommunications-related services include product training, emergency equipment, overhead paging, pagers, consulting and two-way radio services.

Product Training
To enhance your department's productivity, CTS provides professional product and service training classes, presentations and user guides free of charge to customers. Our professionally-certified trainers will teach you how to use the variety of services and products CTS offers and answer any questions you may have.

In addition, user guides and quick reference cards about the CTS products you use every day are available for download.

Emergency Communications
CTS provides products and services that help departments prepare for and respond to emergency situations. These includes essential line service (link), SL-100 line, elevator (link), SL-100 line, ERS, parking (link) and SL-100 line, UCPD alarm (link).

Overhead Paging Service
Overhead paging enables users to make announcements through an EBS telephone by way of a paging unit and a network of overhead speakers. This service creates the lines required to access the paging system and includes required additional wiring. Overhead paging system equipment itself is quoted, obtained and invoiced to the customer directly from an outside vendor, whom CTS can recommend.

Two-Way Radio (800MHz)
A private 800MHz channel radio system is available to departments such as fire, police and EH&S. Other campus departments can rent these radios, which enable group and private conversations while in the UCLA area, from CTS on a weekly basis.

Pagers
CTS offers pagers to the UCLA and Medical Enterprise community. Please call us for models and rates.

Consulting Services
A campus consultant can help you design and plan new communications systems, move offices or make complex changes to your department’s existing system. Consultants also provide information, literature, demonstrations and third-party referrals upon request. They coordinate customization of products such as automated attendants to meet specific department needs, research complex product installations and provide customer support to ensure the success of your department’s new system.

  1. Gather Your Information
    Several preliminary decisions will help you discuss your department’s request with a consultant. Please complete the consulting form (in Related Information to the right) to help us analyze the project.
  2. Send & Print Report
    Once you have answered the questions on the form, print a copy for reference and press "submit." Based on your responses, CTS will gather brochures and other materials that will give you a better understanding of your department's communications system.
  3. Schedule a Free Consultation
    CTS will provide a consultant to discuss your department's telecommunications needs free of charge. You will be contacted within 24 hours so we can discuss your requirements and answer your questions.
