Student parking is assigned based on a need-based point system that considers class standing, employment and academic obligations, commute distance and other factors when granting permits. You must meet published deadline dates when both applying and paying for a permit. If your parking permit request is denied, you can appeal the decision through a formal process with its own deadline.
Students can apply for one of two general types of permits: a ridesharing permit (Carpool Parking Permit) or a non-ridesharing permit (Residence Hall or Commuter Permit). Note: If you are a student living in a UCLA Residence Hall you must show proof of an off-campus job to obtain a permit.
Commuter students residing in 90024 and 90025 and Resident Hall students without off campus employment (except Regent Scholars) must appeal for parking.
If you would like to apply for parking, complete and submit, on-time, a Student Parking Online form.

Due to the high demand for on-campus parking and the limited availability of parking spaces, please keep in mind that:
parking application rules and deadlines are strictly enforced.
only a limited number of permits are issued to students each quarter.

Do You Need a Parking Permit or Simply Commuting or Mobility Options?
For commuting students, there are several convenient and flexible transportation options to choose for an alternative to driving alone to campus. Students living in UCLA Residence Halls can leave their car at home and still have mobility to go places. For example, with the BruinGo! program, students can use their BruinCard to ride many Santa Monica Big Blue Bus and Culver City Bus lines from campus to dozens of off-campus destinations for just a 25¢ co-pay. Check out all the money-saving options, which are also good for the environment, at "Getting to UCLA" link located on the left hand side of this page.
