The Student Technology Center (STC) converts to the Covel Business Center (CBC) during the summer and provides special services for conference guests. Services Available The CBC is On-Campus Housing's center for residential computing and business needs. Located in Sunset Village Plaza (across from Covel Commons), the CBC offers a variety of computer services and repairs, cable TV support, HBO and Showtime (at an additional cost), high quality printing and copying, faxing and a broad range of technical and information support. CBC also offers access to a computer lab which provides access to the Internet. Internet Access Internet access is available via a wired connection, free of charge, in any of the residence hall rooms. All you need is an Ethernet cable to access the Internet. Contact the CBC office if connection problems arise. Internet access is also available via the UCLA campus wireless network, free of charge. This network is available in public and common areas of the UCLA residence halls. All that is needed is a wireless card to access the Internet. Connect to the UCLA_WEB wireless network. If additional protocols are required for internet telephone, instant messaging or similar services. Please contact the CBC office for assistance. UCLA guest logon account can be obtained at the CBC Helpdesk. UCLA guest accounts are 14-day temporary accounts. Wired Access
The UCLA residence halls have network ports available in each room from which residents can get internet access. Once a student registers their computer, by installing the policy key software and authenticating using their Bruin Online credentials, internet access will be open as long as the computer continues to comply with policy requirements. Wireless Access Public Areas
In all public areas such as resident hall lobbies, lounges, conference rooms and study halls, and all residence hall rooms/suites, UCLA public network (UCLA_WEB) will be available. This network only allows web and secure web browsing only. For Requirements and configuration please go to:
