New Payroll, Personnel Data & Reports

Published: July 22, 2009

The Personnel/Payroll Campus Data Warehouse (PP CDW) will be made available to campus users beginning July 29, 2009. This is an important step for Personnel/Payroll reporting, as this new system has been created to provide users with more data, unlimited history and a system that allows users to run and access reports from any web browser. Users will be able to access the same PP data that they have come to know, with some new data included by popular demand.

All current PP QDB users will automatically gain access to the new web-based system, Cognos. Cognos is free for departments and requires no installation or software maintenance. All reports can be created, run and saved via web browser. The CDW team does all the maintenance. To begin accessing the new system on July 29, 2009, visit: https://cdw.qdb.ucla.edu (use your QDB, UCLA or OASIS logon) and click the “Personnel and Payroll Reporting” tab where you will find reports, materials to help you get stated as well as a link to the query tool where you can begin your own reports.

There will be an introductory overview to the PP CDW on July 29, 2009 for all PP users interested in seeing a demo of Cognos (including some basics on how to get started) as well as what new items to look for in PP. There will be two sessions held:

Semel Institute (NPI) Auditorium (room C8-183)
Wednesday, July 29, 2009
Session One: 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.  (RSVP using link to the right)
Session Two: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. (RSVP using link to the right)

Additional introductory hands-on small group sessions will also be provided in August. Look for an announcement of dates, times and sign-up procedures at a later date. As always, you can email QDB Support (support@qdb.ucla.edu) for any questions or issues gaining access to the new systems.
