Be aware that, while motorcycles and scooters are a convenient way to get around UCLA and Westwood, it is vital to ride safely at all times to avoid injury. In addition, the non-profit Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) recommends that riders: -
Get trained (It’s easy to find a location near you on via the MSF Website) -
Wearing a helmet, while riding a motorcycle or scooter, is required by law - The non-profit Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) recommends new riders take an approved safety course. To find one near you and preview what you’ll learn, click on the MSF link on this page
- Do not carry a passenger, unless the vehicle is designed to carry two people
- Make sure that all required safety equipment (headlights, brake lights, brakes, mirrors, etc.) are in the proper working condition
- Obey all traffic laws - i.e. stop signs, right of way, and avoid lane sharing
