UCLA Home / Campus Services / Human Resources / Policies & Labor Contracts

University policies and labor agreements govern our workplace at UCLA. Some apply to all staff, while others apply to certain groups of employees only. And a few apply to the entire UCLA community, including students, faculty and staff. To help you find the one(s) you need, we've grouped them into the categories below. Depending on your job, you may also be subject to additional University policies that govern your functional responsibilities.

Personnel Policies for Staff Members

These personnel policies and procedures apply to managers, supervisors and staff who are not represented by a collective bargaining agent (union). They include University of California and local UCLA policies and procedures.

Labor Contracts

Collective bargaining agreements define terms and conditions of employment for those employees who are exclusively represented by a collective bargaining agent (union).

Other Personnel Policies, Programs & Initiatives

Personnel policies and programs listed here typically apply to UCLA staff regardless of representation. Examples include the Catastrophic Leave Program and the Family Medical Leave policy.

Policies Governing Workplace Conduct

These policies apply to the campus community at large. Examples include the University's policies on substance abuse, sexual harassment, and electronic communications.
