UCLA Home / Campus Safety / Environment, Health & Safety / Biological Safety

The Biological Safety Division is an integral part of the UCLA Office of Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S). Our goals are to minimize the health risk of those who are involved in research using biohazardous materials and carcinogens; minimize the risk to the UCLA community and environment; and meet regulatory requirements. Our department is responsible for assisting the UCLA community in implementing University workplace environment, health and safety policies while complying with applicable federal, state and local regulations and guidelines. In addition to providing biosafety programs, the UCLA Biological Safety Division provides the Carcinogen Use Program and the DOD Site Safety Plan.
