We wanted to introduce ourselves to all incoming and returning residents this Fall 2011. We are the Directors of Food and Beverage, Housing Services, Rooms Operations, and University Apartments. Our organizations provide dining options, housing account information and assistance, residential/apartment services, and security.

As students and their families prepare for their travel to UCLA, we are busy ensuring that our facilities are ready for move in. We understand that this transition will be an exciting time for students and their families and will do our part in making the move as smooth and as welcoming as possible.

Our planning begins well before students arrive and the assigned move in times with parking are arranged to ensure that no one has to wait in long lines of traffic. Housing and Hospitality Services in conjunction with Office of Residential Life and Transportation Services will have staff at various check points to assist with the traffic flow, parking, check in stations, and general information. Take a few minutes to watch our move in video at http://www.housing.ucla.edu/videos/move-in.html.

We have new and exciting events taking place this year.

  • Housing Services is excited to join the Bruin Bill this fall, which will enable students and parents to view and pay their fees on one web site.
  • Dining Services will be opening the new Feast at Rieber, which will be our new Pan-Asian Residential Restaurant opening during the Fall quarter.
  • Rooms Operations will be opening the two new buildings at De Neve Plaza, Gardenia Way and Holly Ridge in Winter quarter.  These are the first two buildings of our 1,500 spaces currently under construction.
  • University Apartments will be opening Weyburn Terrace Phase II for single graduates in the summer of 2012.

For continued updates on these and other events taking place, check Ask Housing throughout the year at http://ask.housing.ucla.edu, Like our UCLA Housing Services page on Facebook, or follow our posts on Twitter.  We are starting a new quarterly newsletter as well.  The link to the Fall 2011 edition is in the Related Information box on this page.

We firmly believe that our housing program is designed to provide all students with a new home with comfort, community, services, and security. We believe our housing program is unsurpassed and are proud to be a part of UCLA Housing and Hospitality Services.

We welcome students to UCLA and congratulations on becoming a True Bruin!

Sincerely,
