Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Policy

Policy 905: Research Laboratory Personal Safety and Protective Equipment

As part of an effort to ensure the health and safety of members of the campus research community and to meet the regulatory requirements of the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Laboratory Safety Committee developed Policy 905: Research Laboratory Personal Safety and Protective Equipment.

This campus personal protective equipment (PPE) policy applies to all researchers who work with hazardous materials. The elements of this policy have been carefully considered to provide the safest possible workplace and significantly reduce the likelihood of injuries in support of the University’s goal of research excellence.
