Published: 2009.02.18 The results of the Fall '08 survey regarding Webroot SpySweeper anti-spyware software indicated little usage of, or support for, renewing UCLA’s enterprise-wide agreement for this product. Both the UCLA Common Systems Group (CSG) and UCLA’s Director of Information Technology Security have reviewed the pertinent information and, in light of the current budgetary situation, agree with the conclusion that there is no reason to renew this agreement. For these reasons, UCLA’s Webroot SpySweeper agreement will NOT be renewed after the current agreement period expires on September 13, 2009. UCLA’s agreement with Webroot requires that all copies of the software be erased from our computers upon expiration of the agreement. Please plan accordingly to prepare your department for the September 13th expiration of this agreement. For directions regarding how to remove Webroot SpySweeper from your computer, please follow the link in Related Information. As a reminder, the products available under the current UCLA-wide agreement with Sophos include anti-spyware functionality. These products remain available for use by all UCLA departments, as well as for faculty, staff and student home use, at no cost. For additional information regarding the Sophos agreement, please see Related Information.
