Administrative Systems & Services During the Campus Closure

Due to the University closure from December 22, 2007 through January 1, 2008, normal hours of availability for Administrative Information Systems services and systems have been modified for that period. If you need further information, please contact the AIS Help Desk at (310) 206-6951.

Administration

AIS offices will be closed.

Business Applications

The offices will be closed but normal computer services will be operating. Staff will be available off-site on an on-call basis for problem resolution. Applications (with the exception of Transfer of Funds and dependent on OASIS availability) Sunday 6 p.m. – Tuesday 1 a.m., Tuesday – Saturday 4 a.m. – 1 a.m. Transfer of Funds is dependent on PAN availability (12 a.m. - 9 p.m.). Web Reports (OFSR) will be up 24/7.

Campus Services

  • Help Desk will be closed.
  • ISIS - offsite coverage based on call/page from Operations
  • QDB - equivalent of weekend coverage. If there is a production problem, QDB team will respond, but no user support will be available.
  • AIS LAN will be up with standard weekend coverage (same as QDB)
  • AIS DBA on call for production problems.

Data Center

  • Operations will be staffed to support daily production batch process and to handle daily production printing from MDDS. MDDS plans to provide courier service to Wilshire Center for check delivery.
  • There will be a Job Scheduling analyst on call for the Data Center. Operations will handle storing daily reports.
  • All other support functions (Storage management, ACF2 support, RDS support, etc) will be "on call" if a PRODUCTION PROBLEM occurs. No logon IDs will be set up and there will be no security training scheduled during this time.

Student Applications

The offices will be closed but normal computer services - OASIS, URSA, reporting - will be operating. Staff will be available off-site on an on-call basis for problem resolution. Web grade submission will stop at midnight on Friday, 12/21 and the Fall/07 grade calculation run on the night of 12/22.

Systems, Network, Architecture & Planning

Designated staff will be on-call to cover emergencies that come up and to monitor actions such as the scheduled bank transmissions.
