Published: 2007.10.03 A new function of the UCLA Logon ID process has been released to the general public that will expand the availability of the UCLA Logon ID, better supporting the UCLA community, its members and its departments. This new process will allow persons who are not assigned a UCLA Identification Number (Non-UID) to create a UCLA Logon ID. These Non-UID accounts are not eligible for access to any Bruin OnLine services (e-mail, VPN, proxy, wireless, software, etc.). These accounts will allow for expanded service through UCLA's current ISIS access framework by allowing local application administrators to make authorization decisions based upon their unique requirements. An example of a use for a Non-UID account is currently being implemented through URSA. Students can now assign specific access to a Non-UID account to view their records via URSA. This will enable students to authorize a third party (i.e. parents) to pay their tuition fees or view their grades without giving them their personal UCLA Logon ID and password. |
