Think of UCLA as a beautiful island filled with delightful technology resources that are desired by some scary and malevolent ‘outside tribes’. In order to make sure everything is safe and available for Bruins, we need to make sure that you are accessing those resources in accordance with minimum standards, or you WILL BE KICKED OFF THE ISLAND! Don’t be the weak link in our security chain. Read the UCLA Minimum Security Standards document. If it makes perfect sense, please take the time to immediately ensure that you are in compliance. If the standards don’t make complete sense or you’re not sure how to go about achieving full compliance, come to a free, on-campus BruinTech seminar where we will provide definitions, explanations, instructions, hints and answers! UCLA security and computer support experts described the standards with examples and explanations, and concluded with a 30 minute Q&A. Panel: - Ross Bollens, UCLA IT Security Director
- Mark Bower, IT Services, Associate Director, Managed Network Services
- Mike Duggan, IT Services LAN Services
- Robert Kilgore, College Information Systems
