Best Practice
Follow the Writing Style Guide and the Graphic Standards as defined in the Portal Toolkit. If you have questions about the guidelines, please contact a member of the IT Services Portal Team. Please read "Workflow Procedures" to learn about the life cycle of an article.
Who Can Edit an Article
Trained content contributors are allowed to edit content that has been assigned to them by their functional area content manager. Email the IT Services Portal Team to request training and set up a new user account. Each content contributor receives a unique user ID and password, which will allow access the Vignette Content Manager (VCM) and the Portal Preview Site. Note: portal URLs, account user names and logins are case sensitive.
Migrating Content Please develop content directly in the content management system, if possible. Word and other applications often contain invisible code that may break table cells and adversely affect portal functionality. If content originates from an application outside the portal, such as Word, paste the content into Notepad or another plain text editor before copying and pasting it into the portal. Reformat text with eWebEditPro.
See "How to Format an Article" in Related Information.
