These instructions will guide you through the download and installation of Thunderbird for Macintosh OS X. Per Mozilla's requirements, the earliest OS version Thunderbird will run on is OS X 10.2.
- Double-click on the Thunderbird.2.0.x.dmg icon that you downloaded. In some cases, your operating system may automatically open the disk image.

- Click and Drag the Thunderbird icon to the Applications folder on your hard drive to install the application.

- Drag the disk icon to the trash in order to unmount it. You may also drag the .dmg file to the trash to delete it.

- Go to the Applications folder and double-click the Thunderbird icon. Thunderbird 1.5 will now start.

The Thunderbird installation is complete! Once the application has started, you can right-click the Thunderbird icon and select "Keep in Dock" to make it easier to start Thunderbird in the future.
