We offer the following computer and repair services:
Computer Lab
There are workstations available for use in the Student Technology Center's (STC) computer lab, consisting of several PCs and one Mac. Each workstation is loaded with multimedia software and is Internet ready — free of charge. These computers are connected to our printers and allow printing in black and white or color. These computers do not store any data on them. A storage media is required to save any documents or files such as a USB flash drive or a blank CD or DVD. Please see the usage policy regarding the computer lab prior to using any of the workstations.
Scanning
The STC offers self-service, full color, flatbed scanning to on-campus residents. This service is offered free of charge. However, A storage media is required to save any documents or files such as a USB flash drive or a blank CD or DVD.
CD/DVD Burning
The STC currently has workstations with CD-ROM/DVD-ROM burning capability. CD-ROM/DVD-ROM burning is available free of charge to make back-up copies of software, archive lecture notes, documents, etc. Again, A storage media is required and that copyrights are not being violated. The service is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Repairs
STC offers a variety of software repair services. Some of those include diagnostic, hard drive reformat, operating system re-install, virus removal and hard drive data transfer.
STC does not offer hardware repair services, although, STC can diagnose hardware problems, and provide recommendations as to what might be needed to resolve the problem.
STC encourages that if the computer is still under manufacturer warranty, to contact the manufacturer for service as this will usually be free of charge, and ensures that the repair does not jeopardize its warranty coverage.
