Selecting a Logon ID
Your UCLA logon ID is the username which you will use to authenticate to electronic services across campus. It may also form the first part of your UCLA email address. Once created, your UCLA Logon ID is permanently assigned to your 9-digit UCLA ID number. Selecting a Password
Your password protects your online identity, maintaining the privacy of your email messages and preventing other users from posing as you while performing malicious or illegal activities. You may change your password as often as you wish.
Your UCLA logon ID password must:
contain between 6 and 16 lowercase alphanumeric characters
contain at least one letter
contain at least one number
Select a password which will be easy for you to remember but difficult for other people to guess. A good password consists of a combination of letters and other characters, often with unusual spelling and/or capitalization. To keep other people from guessing your password, do not use words such as your favorite color, the names of friends, family members, pets or numbers such as your birthdate or telephone number.
