For the first time ever, we are having an all-hill meeting. Please join us in Pauley Pavilion as an entire community. This all-important meeting is a chance to meet everyone in your community and get to meet the fabulous staff we've selected to assist you this year. We will start this meeting at 6:30 p.m. right after the New Student BBQ.

Tuesday, September 22nd UCLA New Student Volunteer Day:
Join 5,000 of your fellow new students, as well as 1000 staff, faculty and alumni, in the largest community participation project in our nation's history! Students will participate in restoration and beautification projects at eight locations in Los Angeles. Organized by the new UCLA Volunteer Center, which will open on September 21st. See your RA for details about your meeting location and bus logistics.

"Mountains Beyond Mountains" Book Discussion: See your RA for location and time.
The UCLA Global Citizenship Initiative seeks to engage incoming first-year and transfer students living on the hill in a shared reading experience. "Mountain Beyond Mountains" by Tracy Kidder is a book that portrays the work of Dr. Paul Farmer. He has dedicated his life to addressing HIV and Tuberculosis in Haiti and throughout the world. The book is a rousing read that inspires one to take collective action, and think globally about the interconnected issues that we are facing. Come join in the discussion.
