BruinGo! works on both the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus (BBB) and on the Culver CityBus (CCB). With your valid BruinCard, you board the bus, swipe your card through the fare-box, deposit a 25 cent co-payment and ride. There is never a charge to your BruinCard. UCLA Transportation subsidizes each Big Blue Bus and Culver CityBus trip you take.
Eligibility
All currently enrolled UCLA students and current UCLA staff and faculty with a valid BruinCard may participate in BruinGo! and have unlimited access to any Santa Monica Big Blue Bus (BBB) or Culver City Bus (CCB). Note that certain BruinCard holders, like visiting scholars, volunteers, University Extension students and affiliates will not qualify for BruinGo! because their card validation will not show current registration or employment status.
Flash Pass Makes it even Easier
Good news for frequent riders and daily commuters! A Flash Pass is a prepaid co-payment card. Instead of dropping 25 cents in the fare-box each time you board, buy one co-payment card that’s good for the entire academic quarter. Just show the Flash Pass card to the bus driver, and swipe your BruinCard when you board. The fee for each academic quarter is $22.50. You can buy it online or in the Transportation lobby.

Transfers
Transfers on Big Blue Bus
Transfers now cost 50 cents. If you are staying on a Big Blue Bus (BBB) for your next trip, swipe again on the next trip. If you are going to Culver CityBus, swipe again when you board Culver CityBus. If you are going to ride a Metro Bus next, you will need to pay 50 cents to the driver for the transfer coupon.
Transfers on Culver CityBus
Please ask the driver for a transfer coupon when you board your first bus. The transfer is free if you are staying on the Culver CityBus for your next trip. You do not swipe again on the second bus. You do need to pay 25 cents for a transfer to a different bus line, like Metro or BBB. You show this transfer to the driver on the second bus you board.
Senior Riders
If you are 62 or over, bring your valid state ID or passport along with your BruinCard to Transportation Services and we will issue a Flash Pass to you at no cost.
